Blues Band
is:
Anna Marie, Vocals, Percussion
Hailing from a musical family in Los Angeles, Anna has always had music in her blood. From singing Etta James, Koko Taylor, or Nancy Wilson to playing drums and performing in theater and local bands such as Soul Comfort, her 25 year performing career displays unique and uplifting interpretations of the heart and soul of the art-form. She connects to her audience with ease and grace contrasted by riveting lyrics and conveys to all present what is in her heart.
Jay Rodecap, Lead Guitar, Vocals, Songwriter
This blues aficionado’s influences of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Robert Johnson, to name a few, have melded into one of New Mexico’s premier lead guitarists. Having headlined bands in Dallas and locally in such successes as Rodestar and Fenderbenders, Jay has entertained audiences for over 40 years while growing his custom home construction and renovation business. Whether writing original blues or ripping emotional lead solos, his refined talent draws fans from teenage PS3 RockStar protégées to accomplished musicians.
Tony Vigil, MD, Bass
As a New Mexico native bassman and Stanford Medical School graduate, Tony is all about others. With a thriving Family Medical Practice and concurrently starting local bands like Doctor Blues, Blues are Rx, Tone Engine, and Bad Katz, Tony’s actions verify his ambition to bring the best of himself and blues to Albuquerque. His professional advice or solid bass playing is never too over-done, just enough and just in-time.
Nick Quint, Harp, et al.
A successful musician of 35 years, with formal music training at UNM, Nick possesses a keen ear for adding an accelerant or a mournful tone to the Bad Katz blues mood. Nick’s styling draws primarily from influences of Delta Blues melded with Southern Rock. With blues renditions or his East Mtn. utility development company his imagination has no limits.
Dave Dyer, Drums
With heroes like the Tower of Power drummer, David Garibaldi, and a father who played professional horn in blues bands in Detroit, how could Dave go astray? He has played in rock, country, and blues groups for over 40 years throughout the Southwest which has allowed him the good fortune of opening for many top performers, including Randy Travis and Cher. As a financial services professional, or drummer with local groups such as Doctor Blues, Smokin’ Guns, Fenderbenders, or Tone Engine, Dave can provide consistent accuracy.
